News from Masulita Uganda

Hello brethren, greetings in
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It has been long
since we last communicated. The Lord has been
gracious on our behalf; he has seen us through the
many difficulties that have come our way.
Caring for Children -- At the
close of last year, we came into contact with
Compassion International, an organization that works

churches and ministers to
children -- and not only children who are in
the church but also children who are outside
of the church. Their main goal is to nurture
the next generation into God fearing men and
women. They pay school fees for those who
are in need and help take care for them in
their homes. Right now they are caring for
270 children from around Masulita and the
neighbouring villages.
The parents who have children
in this program decided to build an office
from which to run the program since, as a
church, we could not physically accommodate
the program when it first started. Now the
program in being run in the children's
church building.
The
parents are mixing mud (below) to make
bricks. These parents are committed to doing
whatever they can to see the project run
smoothly in this area because they feel they
are being greatly helped during this period
of economic downturn.

Recently the project
brought doctors to do a medical check up
on all the
children for whom they care, to determine
their health. Only 8.5% were found to be
positive with HIV. Below are some of the
pictures taken from that medical process in
the church building.
Thank
God for such generous people who are helping
the needy in our area. We believe God is
going to reward them fully. |

Our food bank has come back to
full function thanks to our friends in the
United States who have sacrificed from the little
they have to help us run this program. In this month
we managed to go around the villages seeking out the
needy and trying to help them with their basic
needs. We contacted about fifteen elderly people and
a few others who don’t have anyone taking care of
them. Depending upon the supplies we have available,
we are trying to help them with some of their basic
needs like food, soap, and sugar.
Below we see the church van being
filled with the things that we gave out to meet
their needs for a few days. |

We met some mothers in the
village (below). These two women have
husbands who no longer care for their
families; they have left that care entirely
up to their wives. We were able to give
these women some provisions. |

These elderly women below were
found with no one to help them. The woman in the
picture on the left, below, cares for her grand
children full time; the children were left with her
by her sons, who do not see fit to care for their
own children. The woman (below, right) was found
alone and when we showed her love and gave the
provisions we had with us, she gave her life to
Christ. |

We thank God for His love and care
for every one of us, as we pray for one another,
encourage one another and share his love with one
another and to those who are still lost. We believe
one day we are going to rejoice before our God the
father.
May the Lord bless you,
Pastor Robert
