August 10, 2006 we celebrated our 8th
anniversary as Masulita Worship Center. I have been
reflecting on the past in view of what God has brought
us to today. I remember in 1997 at the end of the year
when I was in Seattle Washington. Not long before that
time we had graduated from Bible College and Robina and
I were married. But I was unsure as to what we were
going to do next with our lives. It was then that the
Lord started giving me dreams and visions of what we
were to do and build. Now I realize the power of dreams,
not only the dreams we have when we sleep but those that
come from the Lord and tell of what God wants us to be
and to do. As Christians, dreams are part of our lives,
for by them we often know the future and the dreams I’m
talking about are the pictures of the future.
Everything that we have done and achieved was all merely
dreams in 1997. The power of a dream from God brings
hope in our life and it gives us courage to face the
future. In Genesis 37 the Bible talks of a 17 year old boy
named Joseph. He was at the age where most young people
start panicking thinking about their future, what to do
in college, who to marry, and many other ideas that go
through a person's thoughts while looking to the future.
Yet the dreams Joseph had, shaped his life and gave
direction and a determination that saw him through all
his troubles. The power of a dream is so
great that it gives a person more value in life and
a purpose for which to live.
I
remember when we first came to our village to plant a
church, we knew we had to plant it but did not know
exactly what we needed regarding the details. Through
prayer and fasting we started dreaming of a beautiful
building; the shape, the size and the color was pictured
in our dreams. Now it is eight years and the church
which was merely a dream is standing on our three acres
of land. I cannot remember how many people have found
Jesus inside this building many of whom have been
delivered to us by means of dreams. Dreams are not just
for the people who dream them but for thousands of
people that God intends to help through one man’s dream.
That is why when God tells you or shows you something,
don’t just think that it is only for you: think of your
children, your children's children and their children’s
children. A dream will affect many more than just the
receiver of the dream.
Each
dream we dream is supposed to be a blow to the kingdom
of darkness. So when the enemy fights hard against
you he is not fighting you as a person but the dream in
you. I believe the devil has the ability to see in the
future, he sees what damage they will do to his kingdom.
So he wants to kill them at a tender age; he tried it
with Moses, Jesus and maybe you. I know many people who
almost died when they were born, some of whom their
mothers tried to abort. But somehow the Lord preserved
them and now they are serving the Him. I almost died
between the ages of 11 and 14 years old during a civil war here
in Uganda. Now I see why the devil wanted me dead:
because of “the dream” God was going to give me.
It’s
my prayer for you that you realize your
purpose for being here and the only one who can
help you find that purpose is God, as you seek him for
direction. The dream will help you live a productive
life, filled with purpose. I wake up each morning from my
bed with much hope that I’m here for more than just to
occupy space, eat and go to sleep. No, I’m here to do
the will of God. I live not just for me but for others
too. I destroy the kingdom of darkness by every action
and every word of my mouth. Get your life together by
asking God for godly dreams.
Pray
with me - Lord I thank you that I am fearfully and
wonderfully made, that I am not just here to pass time
but I was created to do your will. Help me Lord find my
place in you. Show me the purpose of my being here. Help
me dream dreams that are bigger than me and help me to
accomplish every task you send my way. Thank you for
anointing me to do your will. Give me the grace and the
wisdom to start and finish everything you prepared for
me to do. In Jesus name Amen
God
bless you my friend.
