This Time ...

If, as in a vision in the night,

God took me back through time,

Before you and I were joined as one,

And I held perfect recall of all the days

That have been granted us until now,

 

And I saw all our time together in review,

Our happiness and exultation,

Our every heartbreak, pain, and grief;

And if I was granted then, by God, the choice

To walk and love through life again with you -- or not,

 

I would, with certainty of heart,

Love you again and walk together

Through the hope and joy, the love and pain,

Giving all my heart to God and you,

Only this time -- love you better than before.
